Build 2025 ran four days in Seattle under one banner — 2024 was the year of the assistant, 2025 is the year of the agent. GitHub Copilot grew its own asynchronous coding agent, Agent Mode spread to every major IDE, Azure AI Foundry crossed into model-as-a-utility territory with Grok 3, NLWeb pitched itself as 'HTML for the agentic web,' and the Model Context Protocol quietly became the standard underneath all of it.
